All applicants will be processed and evaluated through the Naval Acquisition Career Center (NACC) prior to Navy IPO. From time to time, Navy IPO hires Interns and Associates under special authority which permits an accelerated hiring process (section 852 of the National Defense Authorization Act).
Both Interns and Associates receive the same benefits (e.g., leave, health insurance) as Federal Career Civilians. For information on these specific benefits visit the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)'s New Federal Employee Enrollment website at http://www.opm.gov/.
The Department of the Navy (DoN) Acquisition Intern Program is a civilian (not active duty military) professional hiring program. The NACC manages several hundred Interns and Associates at any given time. The Naval Acquisition Development Program, encompassing both the Naval Acquisition Intern Program (NAIP) and the Naval Acquisition Associates Program (NAAP), are PAID entry level and journeyman programs. For the right candidate it offers professionalism, rapid advancement, mobility, travel and the opportunity to be associated with acquisition, logistics and technology programs that are vital to our nation and to the support of our Naval Forces.
