THIRD Fleet will be executing the first Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Innovation Fair on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii during the execution of the RIMPAC 2018 exercise. The four day event will begin on Thursday, 28 June and run through Sunday, 1 July 2018. The fair will consist of exhibitions, displays, innovation opportunities, contests and special events. RIMPAC 2018 is the world’s largest maritime training exercise that includes forces from 28 nations in the Hawaiian operating area. RIMPAC 2018 is the 26th iteration in the series. Goal of RIMPAC is to promote regional stability in the Pacific. RIMPAC fosters multi-national cooperation and trust, enhances interoperability, enables professional engagement, and achieves respective national objectives to build capable and adaptive coalition partners. The inaugural innovation fair will advance the theme of "Capable, Adaptive, Partners" through a venue for US and international participant collaboration with innovation stakeholders and the science and technology community. The intent of the Innovation Fair is to highlight innovative ideas and capabilities to the Naval and Marine Corps communities. The displays, demonstrations and discussions will present emerging and available technology solutions that enhance or improve existing capabilities with a focus on several Maritime issues including: • Port Security, Harbor Defense, HADR • Unmanned Systems, Robotics • Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Simulators • Energy (Green), Critical Infrastructure • Data/Information Exchange For more information and application instructions form download the PDF here.
