Small Business – The First Option for Innovation
In November 2014, the Secretary of Defense cited America’s eroding dominance in key warfighting areas when calling for “a broad, department-wide initiative to pursue innovative ways to sustain and advance our military superiority for the 21st century and improve business operations throughout the department.” (1) The desire to do business with innovative non-traditional partners was clearly articulated by the creation of Defense Innovation Unit Experimental (DIUx) in the Silicon Valley and the strong emphasis Better Buying Power 3.0 places on the need to innovate and achieve technical excellence. ATHENA Far East Inaugural Event
The ATHENA Far East inaugural event is Friday, January 15th in the Commodore Matthew Perry General Mess "Tatami Room", from 1245-1430.
