OFFICERS

This information is specifically beneficial for incoming military officers to the Acquisition workforce.

Where to begin

Review your NAVY Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. They'll tell you:
Which Acquisition career field has been assigned to your billet
What level of certification is required
Marine Corps officers can contact 703-432-4497 to confirm career field and level assigned in TIMS.

What are my Certification Requirements?

For the most current requirements, go to the DAU iCatalog and select your career field.

Career Field Certification Standards

To review what training you have already completed, check your DAU Transcript.

If Training Doesn’t Appear on Your Transcript

If you have completed training and it doesn’t appear on your DAU transcript, you will need to contact the eDACM Support Staff for guidance and assistance. Be prepared to provide transcripts and/or proof of completed training.

Register for Training

Sign up for courses early via eDACM.
Many required courses can be taken online, any time, any place.
Upon receipt of your PCS orders, you may use the “Enroute” category to register for classes.
If your required course has prerequisites, they have to be taken first. If you register for a course and do not meet the prerequisites, your application will be disapproved.
If you need special consideration to register for a class, contact the eDACM Support Staff

Getting Certified

Active duty Navy and Marine Corps officers in officially coded acquisition positions apply for certification via eDACM>Manage Career>Certification. Active duty Navy officers are required to obtain an experience assessment from PERS-447

Other Information

Active duty Navy officers not assigned to acquisition positions who meet the mandatory certification standards may request requesting certification by contacting PERS-447. Reserve officers must be assigned to designated acquisition billets to apply for certification.

SENIOR NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS (NCOs)

Senior NCO AC Billets

The DoN has enlisted personnel working in specific areas of the acquisition workforce. These enlisted leaders range in rank from E-5 to E-9, and are generally assigned to the Program Management, Product Quality Manufacturing, Contracting, IT, and Logistics career fields.

  • Commands that need to designate specific enlisted billets as acquisition must follow the guidelines in the DON DAWIA Operating Guide.
