Internships and Associate Program Opportunities

Navy IPO consists of diverse and knowledgeable employees that have a broad range of technical and program skills, who are engaged in important activities such as technology security and cooperative programs, export license, international agreements, policy, strategic planning and business management. The Interns and Associates at Navy IPO bring unique abilities, enthusiasm and a level of professionalism that allows the organization to meet vital goals and objectives for U.S. national security, today and in the future.

All applicants will be processed and evaluated through the Naval Acquisition Career Center (NACC) prior to Navy IPO. From time to time, Navy IPO hires Interns and Associates under special authority which permits an accelerated hiring process (section 852 of the National Defense Authorization Act).

  • What is the process to be hired as an Intern or Associate?

    Intern

    • Eligibility:
      • U.S. citizen
      • GPA 3.0 or greater with 24 business credits
    • Create an account to apply at https://applicationmanager.gov/
      • Enter the Vacancy ID Number (VIN);
      • Complete the questionnaire; and,
      • Upload your resume and transcript.
    • Candidate information is analyzed by NACC and any qualified candidates will be provided to Navy IPO within two weeks of the positions closing date.
    • Any qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.
    • Successful candidates should receive a job offer within 30 days.

    Associate

    • Eligibility:
      • U.S. citizen
      • MS/MBA + 2 yrs or BA/BS + 4 yrs
      • MS/MBA + 4 yrs or BA/BS + 6 yrs

      • Enter the Vacancy ID Number (VIN);
      • Complete the questionnaire; and,
      • Upload your resume and transcript.

  • What is the Naval Acquisition Career Center (NACC)?

    The Department of the Navy (DoN) Acquisition Intern Program is a civilian (not active duty military) professional hiring program. The NACC manages several hundred Interns and Associates at any given time. The Naval Acquisition Development Program, encompassing both the Naval Acquisition Intern Program (NAIP) and the Naval Acquisition Associates Program (NAAP), are PAID entry level and journeyman programs. For the right candidate it offers professionalism, rapid advancement, mobility, travel and the opportunity to be associated with acquisition, logistics and technology programs that are vital to our nation and to the support of our Naval Forces.
