Directions to the Washington Navy Yard

1.  You must enter the Washington Navy Yard at the Visitor Access Center, whether you drive or walk onto the base. The Visitor Access Center is located at the O Street gate, at the intersection of 11th & O Streets SE (address: 1022 O St SE, Washington DC).
 
2.  You will need to present a valid driver’s license or other form of Government issued I.D. Please allow at least 20 minutes to get through the Visitor Access Center clearance process.
 
3.  Parking is very limited on the Washington Navy Yard. Vehicle registration and proof of insurance or rental agreement are required to drive onto the base. Parking is also available (for a fee) in the lot adjacent to the Washington Navy Yard at the intersection of 6th and M Streets SE. The nearest Metro stops are Navy Yard (green/yellow) and Eastern Market (blue/orange/silver).
 
4.  Once you are at the Visitor Access Center, you must call this office to escort you to our building. You may call for an AIO escort at the AIO main number: (202) 685-7000 or (202) 685-6945/6956/ or 7268.
